Today is our final day in Beijing. We spent the morning and afternoon at The Summer Palace which is where the Empress would go 6 months out of the year. It was beyond amazing. Like the Forbidden City, people come from all over China to visit so it is always busy. It is even open year round. The lake ices over in the winter and can be ice skated on. We took a paddle boat out for an hour on the lake and had a picnic lunch on the boat. I'll tell you what....we are eating some amazing food and NOT gaining any weight with all the exercising we have been doing just sightseeing.
