CLASH OF CLANS...three words in the english language I despise!! It's a game that is everywhere on ipods, ipads, and phones. All our kids' friends are doing it and it's an obsession for Kai. All is technology time is spent on this game. I think he even dreams about it. He talks about it all the time. Within this game, you can purchase gems for real money. Caden did it once several months ago and got in trouble for it. Ever since then, Kai has wanted to buy gems. We keep telling him know which continues to turn into meltdowns.
In talking with our adoption counselor, she encouraged us to let him use his own money to buy gems. In his session last week, he talked about doing it ONLY ONCE. It is SUCH a waste of money to me and hard to let him do it but it has become such a huge forbidden thing to him that we are going to let him do it.
Wednesday evening, we were working on his reading on lesson 38 of 100 Lessons to Get Your Child to Read (or something like that). He did great and I told him that when he finished lesson 40, he could buy gems with his own money with Daddy. He looked at me like I was crazy. He couldn't believe it. That day is today. He did two reading lessons yesterday so he could buy gems today.
All morning long he has been talking about this. He said something interesting. Little C joked that he was going buy gems, too. Kai told him he couldn't because he already has once. He then said everybody buys gems once. He named a couple of kids who he knows has bought gems ONCE. So, many he really will only buy once like he said in counseling. He has such an interesting thought process and here is the whole equality thing coming in the picture.
Today, Big M and I leave for Utah for Women's Conference. So excited to refill my spiritual bucket and come home a better mom, wife, and friend.
