It's the yellow school bus today! Kai was excited to get to ride the bus home. It did NOT go as planned but he made it home safely with a smile. He did notget out of class in time to the bus before it left so he ended up taking a different bus that dropped him off at the other kids' middle school (this is a bus with very few kids to transfer from one school to another). Little C was let out of class a few minutes early so he could meet Kai as he got off the bus. Kai got off but his lunch remained...oops.
Little C showed him where to go to meet the other bus to take them all home.
Another exciting part of today was what came in the mail. Kai received his certificate of citizenship from the US Government today. It's official...well, he already was the minute he landed in Seattle but nice to have the proof!
Exciting stuff today! I am going to continue driving him in the morning til he gets a hang of this bus thing. Then, if he wants to, we will graduate to the morning bus ride, too. I am in no hurry. I go to the gym directly from taking him to school so it works out just fine. I have a feeling, though, that he is going to be wanting to ride it both ways for sheer independence. That would give me an extra hour in the morning...but who is counting. It is so fun to continually see "firsts" even after 3 months of being with us. It just doesn't get old.
